Hubstaff Silent App is built for IT admins to securely deploy background tracking at scale

Deploy the Silent App to run automatically in the background on company-owned devices via MDM, scripting, or manual installation, while meeting IT and compliance requirements.
Admin-driven deployment
A dedicated Silent App deployment interface that allows IT admins to manage and deploy the app to run in the background to track team productivity on corporate devices.
Compliance coverage
Designed with security controls at scale in mind, the Silent App is GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, LGPD, and SOC 2 Type II compliant. Creating a Silent App policy automatically applies it to new users.
Automatic account provisioning
IT admins can use the Ignored Usernames setting to prevent non-employee accounts from being automatically added as Hubstaff members. This streamlines tracking and authorized user management.

Standardized IT deployment on corporate devices

Give your IT team the flexible installation options, permissions, and security controls they need.

Installation methods

Leverage multiple ways to install the Silent App

Flexibly install the Silent App at scale via MDM options, including Intune, Jamf, GPO, and JumpCloud. Deployment packages include .msi for Windows, .pkg for macOS, and .sh for Linux.

What the agent captures

Consistent tracking without any interruption

Designed for transparent tracking of activity levels (percentage of mouse and keyboard usage, not keystroke logging), screenshots, apps and URLs used, and idle time, according to the organizational policy and settings. The agent continues to track time even without the screenshot or URL permissions in place.

Permissions required

Flexible permission controls

For the Silent App to operate seamlessly, some OS-level permissions are essential. Users on macOS always need to manually approve Screen Recording. While IT admins can automatically configure app and URL tracking permissions for users with .mobileconfig profiles, some approval may still be required.
