Track time from any device
Your contractors track time to specific projects and tasks using Hubstaff’s desktop, web, and mobile apps or the Chrome extension. You get a clear view of the hours behind every payment to contractors in Remote, the global HR and payment platform.
Approve hours before they reach Remote
Pay only for the hours you’ve signed off on. Use timesheet approvals to review, approve, or reject each contractor’s timesheet in Hubstaff before anything syncs to Remote.
See the activity behind every hour
Spot low-activity stretches before an invoice goes out. Hubstaff measures activity levels based on keyboard and mouse input frequency while the timer runs, so you can see how active each contractor was during tracked time and raise questions early.
Add proof of work on your terms
Back every paid hour with a visual record, on the time and activity tracking settings you choose. Set how often optional screenshots are taken for each contractor, or turn them off entirely. Contractors see every screenshot of their own work in Hubstaff.
Know which tools were used on the clock
Check that paid hours went to the work you agreed on. App and URL tracking shows which apps and websites each contractor used while tracking time, and you can turn it on per team or per person.
Break hours down by person, project, and date
Get the numbers ready before timesheets sync to Remote. Detailed reports show tracked hours by contractor, project, and date range. Export or schedule them to land in your email inbox.
Keep contractor hours inside budget
Stop overruns before they land on an invoice. Use project budgets to set hour or cost limits per project and receive alerts as contractors approach those limits. Set weekly limits per person so no one logs more time than you’ve agreed to pay for.
Approved hours, straight to Remote
As soon as you approve a timesheet in Hubstaff, the hours sync to that contractor’s timesheet in Remote. Each entry carries its clock-in and clock-out times and is labeled “Hubstaff tracked time,” so everyone can see where the hours came from. Invoicing and payment are done in Remote.
Regular tracked time and paid breaks sync to Remote. Unpaid breaks, on-call time, and time off stay in Hubstaff.
Easy integration with Remote
Connect your Remote account
Link your Remote account from Settings > Integrations in Hubstaff. You’ll need a Hubstaff Team plan or higher, a Remote company admin login, and at least one contractor already set up in Remote. The setup guide walks you through each step.
Match your contractors
Hubstaff shows the contractors you pay through Remote. Add everyone at once, or pick people from a list and turn syncing on for each one when you’re ready.
Turn on timesheet approvals
From then on, every timesheet you approve in Hubstaff syncs to that contractor’s timesheet in Remote.
Paying contractors through more than one provider? The Deel integration works the same way, and you can see all integrations in one place.
Built around how you already work in Remote
Only the hours, never the personal data
The integration sends Remote only what it needs to record time: the person’s Remote ID, timesheet dates, and clock-in and clock-out times. Names, emails, screenshots, and activity data stay in Hubstaff, and contractors can see their own tracked time, in line with our guiding principles.
Set it up your way
Sync everyone at once or pick people from a list. If someone has multiple engagements in Remote, choose the correct one. Decide whether paid breaks count, and turn syncing on for each person when you’re ready. If a timesheet changes after it has synced, admins can manually re-sync it.
See what your global team costs
Which projects are the most profitable? How much budget has been spent, and how many hours are left? Use Hubstaff’s detailed reporting to see time and project costs across your whole team, in every country.
